The Kansas City catholic Diocese has re-instated Sugar Creek Catholic priest Fr. Mathew Bartulica.
Barticulica was suspended last night after an investigation by the church’s Independence review Board. They made that move after the Diocese’ new Ombudsman Jenifer Valenti presented information to them.
Valenti investigates charges of misconduct by diocesan priests and other employee and volunteers for the Diocese.
Her post was created last summer after the priest abused sex scandals that local the local diocese.
“The course of action that the Independent Review Board, the Ombudsman and I took in placing Father Bartulica on leave was a prudent step that allowed our diocese to follow its policies and procedures for clerical conduct,” said Kansas City Bishop Robert Finn in a news release.
