Kansas City Mayor Sly James is proposing a $1 billion, 10 year plan to make repairs throughout the city. James revealed his plan during business session at City Hall Thursday afternoon. James ticked off a series of multi bullion dollar repairs facing the city
The list includes the city’s creaking water pipes, it’s cracked and pockmarked streets and old bridges. The pla n requires voters to approve issuing general obligation bonds.
The rough guess is that for an average Kansas. City home owner that would e about. $75 dollar-a-year increase in property taxes. “These situations will not repair themselves” said the Mayor. “we can’t kick it down the road. The time to act is now”.
