Obama Signs Kansas City WWI Commission Bill

President Obama has signed a bill authorizing the Kansas World War One Museum to be the headquarters for a centennial World War One Commission.
The panel will coordinate American centennial activities to mark the First World War.
The Commission will solidify the Kansas City Museum’s status as the center for WWI studies in the US.
Some advocates were hoping the measure would also include the a WWI monument on the National Mall.
That is not included in this measure.
The conflict started in Europe in 1914.
Us involvement started in earnest in 1917 when the US joined Western European allies.
The war ended in 1918.
