The head of the Missouri Democratic ticket, US Senate candidate Robin Carnahan will be the star at the Kansas City primary party Aug. 3.
Carnahan and the rest of the Democratic ticket will gather to watch the returns roll in at the Uptown Theater, 3700 Broadway. Most of the area top Democrats will be there for at least part of the evening. At least the ones still speaking to one another after some bruising local primaries.
The speakers. according to a release from the Missouri Democrats, will start about 9:30. The aim is to have Carnahan at the speaker’s stand around 10pm for state-wide live shots..
And in Kansas, most of the Johnson County political big shots will be gathering at the Marriott in Overland Park. Most of the statewide ticket, including presumptive gubernatorial nominee, Sen. Sam Brownback and US Senate candidiate Jerry Moran are expected. Rep. Todd Tiahrt will watch returns come in from his base in Wichita.
Most of the candidiates for the GOP Ks-3 nomination will probably be there, too.
The GOP also has a “Unity Breakfast” set for the following morning. The Johnson County GOP web site has the details on that.
The GOP elelction night party is free. The Breakfast is not.
