Lincoln Prep Students Show Nixon “Hands Up” Silent Protest During Governor’s Appearance at School

Several students dr Lincoln Prep in Kansas City held a brief silent protest during an appear cd today by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.
The student, about of dozen of them, stood up and placed their hands above their heads as Nixon was introduced.
The same posture has been used by protesters I Ferguson, Missouri.
The student, the Governor and the entire state of
missouri are awaiting a Grand Jury decision in the fatal shooting on a. 18 year d Ferguson, Micael Brown by a Ferguson policeman.
Nixon made no note of the disturbance during his brief remarks.
He was there praising the schools national recognition as a “Blue Ribbon School”.
Nixon told reporters later he is actually pleased to see young people taking the lead in Ferguson protest activities.
The Lincoln Prep principal referred all questions about any punishment the student stay face to the district’s front office.
