House Ends Marathon Tax Hike Vote. Bill Swamped by 94 No votes

The proposed $400 million dollar tax increase bill once called “the last train”, by Speaker Ray Merrick, was defeated overwhelmingly Thursday morning.
It ended a lengthy debate that started Wednesday night. Was suspended at mid iChat and resumed at 8 Thursday morning.
The House is returning to work at 2 this afternoon.
The Senate will return “at the sound of the gavel, according to its website.
