Lansing Lawmaker Posted Facebook Meme Insulting Obama & Mexicans

The Wichita Eagle newspaper reports a Lancing, Ks. state legislator posted an insulting image of President Obama as Mexican on his Facebook page Tuesday.

The Eagle says Republican John Branford of Lansing took the image down after Eagle political reporter Brian Lowery contacted him.

The report says the image had a Mexican man in a sombrero, looking like a deformed image of president Obama.

The message said, ”Mexican word of the day: Pizza chip and believing”.

It goes on to say, “This pizza chip will believing the White House soon”.

It was an effort to write out a bad Mexican accent.

The report says Branford removed the message and later said he didn’t make it, but he did share it and it was in bad taste.

Kansas Democratic Vice-Chair Melody McCray-Miller said she was appalled by what Branford did.

She says he should be thrown of the Kansas Legislature
