Former Mayors Endorse Earnings Tax Renewal

Four of the five living former mayors of Kansas City appeared together to endorse the renewal of the earnings tax.
Former mayors Kay Barnes, Emanuel Cleaver, Richard Berkley and Charles Wheeler all appeared at a news conference Wednesday.
The other living mayor, Mark Funkhouser, now lives in the Washington D.C area. He is the publisher of Governing magazine.
Funkhouser says he was not contacted and asked to endorse the earnings tax renewal. Funkerhouser says he supports continuing the 1% incomes assessed on everyone who works in Kansas City, Missouri, regardless of where they live
